My first bollywood theater experience in the USA

This is my last quarter here at Stanford and I am taking all my courses as credit/no credit. Hence, I get some free time during the weekends. So I decided to watch a hindi movie in a theater with one of my friends. I searched on the web and found that "salam-e-ishq" is a new bollywood hit. So I bought tickets for it online (Naz8, Fremont). I was looking forward to my first bollywood theater experience here, in the US. However, someone told me that "salam-e-ishq" is not a good movie, "Eklavya" is a much better movie. I wanted to make this experience as a good experience with a good movie so I decided to get my ticket changed. The movie was supposed to start at 1 PM and I reached there 5min to 1 PM. Luckily, there were couple of available tickets for "Eklavya" and I could magage to get one for Eklavya.

Since this was my first bollywood theater experience, I was comparing everything with my PVR experience in India. I found that the architecture and decor was very similar to old traditional inidian movie theaters. Surprisingly, it was not very crowded even though it is located in the heart of Indian community in the bay area. During the interval we ate some samosas with chuttney, this reminded me my childhood when I used to go to a theater for samosas and aaloo-chat. After the movie, I visited the indian costume shop, right across the street. I was feeling as if I am in Sarojni Nagar market, colorful clothes, glass bangles and bindis. The store had a small indian beauty parlor as well. There was a good collection of lehenga though I found them a little expensive. Even though I did not buy anything, I enjoyed my window shopping in an indian store.

Well, about the movie. Overall, I liked the movie "Eklavya". I was happy that the movied did not have many songs (only one song) and there were no dance scenes around trees and on a moutain.
